How does a wa.me link work?
WhatsApp has an official link format: wa.me followed by your number in international format, without a plus sign, leading zeros or spaces. The UK number 07700 900123 becomes 447700900123. Add ?text= and you can pre-fill a message that the customer only has to send. The generator above does the conversion for you, even if you type your number with spaces or a leading 0.
Where to put your WhatsApp link or QR code
Example messages by trade
A pre-filled message tells customers what they can ask, and tells you straight away what the chat is about.
- Plumber or heating engineer: "Hi, my boiler is showing a fault."
- Garage: "Hi, I would like to book a service or MOT."
- Cleaning company: "Hi, I would like a quote for cleaning."
- Driving school: "Hi, I would like to book a first lesson."
- Online shop: "Hi, I have a question about my order."
Your link works. Who will answer all those messages?
A WhatsApp link brings in more messages, and they all land on one phone. Often that is the owner's phone, while the engineer, planner or colleague knows the answer. With InBetween every customer message goes automatically to the person doing the work. They reply in their own WhatsApp and the customer gets the answer from your business number. Your link and QR code keep working, because the number does not change.

Frequently asked questions
Is this WhatsApp link generator free?
Yes, completely free and without an account. The link and QR code are made in your browser and keep working forever, with or without InBetween.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. A wa.me link works with both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business. Use the number your WhatsApp Business account runs on.
Do you store my phone number?
No. The generator runs entirely in your own browser. Your number and message are not sent to us.
Does a WhatsApp link or QR code expire?
No. The link points to your number and keeps working as long as that number has WhatsApp.
Do I need a new WhatsApp number?
No. You connect your existing WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business number, the same way you would connect WhatsApp Web. Customers keep messaging the number they already know.
